Country Living/Morning Rush
"Ian, there's a mouse in the trap, could you please take care of it?" I yell downstairs in the chaos of our morning rush as we ready for school and work.
My sweet Sophie follows me around twirling her hair and sucking her thumb.
"Mommy, may I please look at the mouse?"
I hesitate, in the past, I've not let her look, - she's asked before, but for some reason today I say ok and she bends over and looks.
"Are we going to eat em, Mama?"
Gotta love a girl who respects living off the land!
Reading Books
"Mom, now that I am almost five, I think I'm ready for chapter books!" says Isla
"Ok, which one are you thinking?"
"This Winne the Pooh book here."
She brings it up the ladder of her bunk bed and snuggles in next to Mommy and Sophie. We begin chapter one. Sophie is chatting away asking random questions and pointing to the small pictures on each page. (She is very inquisitive lately, especially when we are reading.)
"What's this Mommy?" Sophie asks as she points to the gold ribbon bookmark within the binding of the book.
"That's a bookmark, so we know where we are." I answer as she tugs on the bookmark.
"We know where we are, we're in Monkton."
